Going The Extra Mile

Over the weekend, I shared a blog with all of you in regards to some issues I was experiencing with JewelMint's website. I would first like to start off by giving a super huge thanks to Stephanie, akrodgers, Jen, and an Anonymous poster for your comments.

I was able to contact my bank, and while my billing address was correct, they removed the "plus four" digits that were entered along with the zip code (just in case), and suggested the exact way the information needed to be entered. I was also informed that middle initials (and suffixes) are not necessarily important to include unless prompted.

It was suggested by the telephone banker to attempt a third order while on the phone. I was hesitant, but I was assured that this was most likely the issue.

Sure enough, I did not receive an error for the third order. Subsequently, I followed-up with JewelMint today in regards to first two orders, and the pending charges While the first two orders did not go through, I was assured the pending charges would indeed fall off within 3-5 business days.

JewelMint's customer service rep was extremely helpful - I'm glad I was able to get this all sorted out before placing my first-ever BeautyMint order and for tonight's StyleMint and JewelMint party and orders!

Lastly, I want to give some tips to everyone for placing orders on JewelMint's website based off of my experience:

Make sure your billing address is written exactly as is registered with your bank account. This includes any periods (.), commas (,), etc.
Middle initials and suffixes are not necessary.
Receiving a "Payment error: failed to purchase cart" notice most likely means that your order did not process. However, you may still notice a pending charge on your account that according to JewelMint will "drop from your account within 3-5 days".
If you receive a "Payment error: failed to purchase cart" notice, DO NOT continue to place orders or continue to hit "Purchase" without first checking and changing your information as necessary.
If all else fails, contact your bank to verify your exact billing address or JewelMint for help.

P.S. While the Empress Necklace was originally showing "Almost Sold Out" and then "Sold Out", it looks like more has been restocked. Therefore, I have another chance to purchase the Empress regardless of my purchasing issues over the weekend - woohoo! Silly me for almost waiting too long. :)

Experiencing Issues with JewelMint Website + Two Pending Charges

Well, you guys know me. I'm not one to ever really complain that much and if there is ever something that is bothering me, I try to remain as positive as possible. However, I'm currently having a less than favorable experience right now with JewelMint's website.

While taking up the Facebook "B2G1FREE" offer yesterday, I entered all my information correctly on the website only to receive an error message "payment error:failed to purchase cart." with a declined card notice.

Declined? How so? I double checked the numbers - everything was indeed entered correctly, and there was more than enough in the bank account to cover the transaction.

I checked the account online to verify that everything was good, only to notice the $59.98 pending JewelMint charge on the account. Of course, the amount of money in the account was not an issue, and I double-checked the entered card numbers one more time. In addition, I've received no messages or confirmations in regards to the order - or lack thereof.

I've left a message on their after-hours messaging system, and chalked it up to being an isolated glitch that should be taken care of on Monday.

I also didn't plan on posting anything about my issue until, well...it happened again today.

Come today's BeWitchMint Bag deal, I couldn't help but want to purchase a mystery bag of my own. I figured the first issue may have been a fluke so of course I was a bit hesitant, but I just couldn't resist. Sure enough, I received another "Payment error: failed to purchase cart" notice citing the same issue.

Again, I checked the account which is perfectly fine. Except for the second charge that is now pending on my account along with the first.

Now there are two pending charges/holds on my bank account totaling over $80 and no confirmations. The kicker? The Empress necklace that I purchased yesterday that was showing "almost sold out" is now listed as "sold out".

I'll be sending JewelMint a second after-hours message here shortly. In addition, I'll be following up with this post tomorrow once this gets sorted out. I will at least let everyone know if the situation was corrected which I don't see why it shouldn't be. I do know that JewelMint's customer service is extremely helpful; I've just personally never experienced this issue before.

In the meantime, I won't be attempting to purchase anything else until this is rectified, and for good reason. I'm hoping they can still fulfill my original order which included one Empress Necklace amongst two other pieces I've been longing for. I guess we'll see what happens...

Watching JewelMint's Saber Tooth Ring video, I noticed two very gorgeous rings on Cher Coulter! To the right of the photo above you will notice two gold and emerald rings on Cher's pointer finger.

Thing is, Cher tends to wear JewelMint pieces in all of these videos so I'm assuming these rings will be a future set!!!

Another Bizarre JewelMint Email - 50% Off Promo Code (New Members)

On Monday, Sharon sent us a mysterious email that she had received over the weekend from JewelMint. The email (as seen here) featured the Sierra Bracelet, Charleston Earrings, Sea Breeze Earrings, Urban Warrior Ring, and the Sanskrit Necklace all with "Get It Now" options. Problem is, only the Sea Breeze and Urban Warrior are currently in stock. The other three pieces have been sold out for quite some time now.

Today, another bizarre JewelMint email was sent out to select members offering 50% off any one item for new members using Promo Code: BIG15

While this code is working for new members, its been around for awhile. But again, this email features multiple pieces as available, when they're not. For example, the Sanskrit Necklace and Zoe Bangle are both featured as "Almost Sold Out". They've been sold out for awhile. Other pieces such as the In The Rough Ring, Romantic Pine, and Rio Bravos are currently not available either.

Taking a closer look you'll notice the email mentions "Spring Favorites". Looks like these random and mysterious emails are simply just older emails being recirculated. I'm assuming on accident.

So no worries if you received this email only to think you may have missed out on these popular pieces, they haven't been re-released and I don't believe these emails mean they will be re-stocked anytime soon, but then again...who knows? At least the code is still working for new members! :)

StyleMint's Buy 1, Get 1 JewelMint Promo - Slowly Ruling Out Existing Members

As seen in today's email featured over at StyleAndMints.com, StyleMint's latest Buy One, Get A JewelMint Piece free promo is now only available to new members.

This is the fourth offer of its kind to offer a free JewelMint piece with the purchase of any designated StyleMint T. If you've been a fan of these Buy One, Get One promotions, you've noticed that over time StyleMint has begun limiting the deal.

Let's take a look back at these exclusive promotions and their fine print:
August 28th: "For the next 24 hours buy any of these Ts and get the JEWELMINT piece FREE!" This particular promotion had no limits. There had been some confusion when it came to the actual cut-off time of this deal.

September 15th: "For the NEXT 24 Hours Buy Any of These Featured StyleMint Ts and Receive the Matching JEWELMINT Piece FREE!" This next promotion featured the following fine print at the bottom: "Offer Expires 9/16 at 8am PST" - Understandably, of course.

October 12th: "For the NEXT 24 Hours Buy Any of These Featured StyleMint Ts and Get the Matching JEWELMINT Piece FREE!" Fine Print: "*Expires 10/13/11 at 8am PST. Valid one purchase per customer. No returns, exchanges or swapping of JewelMint pieces; T comes with paired piece only."

Phew! Where to start...

Well, let me start off with saying that we should in no way feel entitled to receive anything free from JewelMint or StyleMint, ever. While these promos were great while they lasted, it really is too bad they had to end for existing members.

On the other hand, I think it may have been a bad move to take a promo that was beyond fabulous to begin with and then to slowly, but surely, include more and more limits that would eventually exclude the members that loved and looked forward to these specific promos.

While it is reasonable to promote certain deals to only new members, I can begin to understand how existing members may feel, well...excluded.

Understandably, there were some limits that may have been necessary such as as the one per person limit. However, any move such as this could risk alienating some diehard fans, thus creating some hard feelings. It's the name of the game.

Yes, at the end of the day it is just a shirt and it is just a piece of jewelry - StyleMint and JewelMint owes nothing more to its fans than continuing to provide us with quality shirts and jewelry.

I just think a lot of us fans really looked forward to being a part of this specific deal, that's all.

The Mysterious JewelMint Email - Did You Receive It This Past Weekend?

A super huge thanks to Sharon for forwarding this email to me to share with all of you!

Sharon received this email on Saturday, October 22nd. The only problem is, these pieces have been sold out for quite some time on JewelMint's website.

I took a look back through my emails from JewelMint and while some of the photos from the email look familiar to me, I can't seem to find this particular email anywhere.

It looks as though it was written back in May - the same month JewelMint released the Sierra Bracelet, Urban Warrior Ring, and Sea Breeze earrings. I do also believe the Sanskrit and Charleston Earrings were available at this time, too.

Even more mysterious is, Sharon says she contacted JewelMint Customer Service, but they didn't seem to know anything about the email she had received.

While this email may have been a glitch, it still would be nice to see some of these pieces restocked! The Charleston's are absolutely stunning.

Make sure to check back each week for new user listings! Or, take a look back through the weekly trade archives here to see recent listings you may have missed.

Here's how it works:
1. Begin your post with: Looking to sell, looking to trade, or looking to find.

2. List your items (including accurate descriptions, if necessary, such as "new", "used", or "altered").

3. Please don't forget to include an email address for contact.
