JewelMint New Wave Ring is probably the first piece from JewelMint that I didn't think I'd be able to pull off. To tell you the truth, my very first thought when I saw it was how it would make some major armor for a thumb war! :)
Truth is, I actually ended up liking this ring! Not because it makes such a bold statement (which it undeniably does), but because it was just too cool and unique to pass up - it is seriously like a little miniature sculpture.
You see, I'm also a figeter at heart. I have things sitting on my desk at home that either inspire me or that I can grab and fitget with. This ring is one of those things that I keep permanently fixated along with my other favorites such as the Sweetheart Ring, Zoe Bangle, or whatever else is inspiring me at the moment.
As for styling, in my opinion...this ring needs balance. Whether it's a pair of statement jeans or in my photos you can see I've used a Metal Sequin Metallic Skirt to help offset the New Wave. I've also paired the skirt with an olive green button up shirt that is rolled up to a three-quarter sleeve. The buttons are silver and match the ring, while the Zoe Bangle (worn on the opposite arm) helps to complete the overall look.
A few other pieces that would look amazing with the New Wave would be the Black Keys Bracelet, Brixton Earrings, and the Ludlow Trio (silver and charcoal rings).
I also wanted to point out that the New Wave Ring curves to the left (at least mine does). The size 6 fits and curves perfectly with my middle finger on my left hand - which is great because I'm right-handed so it won't get in the way much. It also curves well with my ring finger on my right hand, but even though this ring is adjustable...it was still too big for this finger on me.
xoxo, Lily
P.S. I'll be uploading these photos and even more up-close photos not included in this post later this afternoon on Mint-Spiration.com in the New Wave Ring Folder (here) - sign up, it's free to join! :)
What are your thoughts on the New Wave Ring?? If you own it, do you love it?

How is the quality on this piece? It looks rather cheaply made (similar in quality to the finger armor rings they sell at Forever 21 for $5.00) do you think this was worth $15 (have coupon code)?
