You may remember my original Serpentine Bracelet photos (in this post here) from awhile back. I've been loving this necklace as a bracelet ever since!
Today, I decided to try a few other ways of switching it up...
In the first photo, you can see how I've knotted this necklace bracelet into an overstated knot! I like to call this the Serpentine Infinity Knot.
The second photo kind of just happened when I was playing around with it a little more...this is pretty much just like the first knot except instead of feeding the other side through, I let the knot hang down instead. I'm also tempted to attached my second serpentine to the two links of the first necklace to create a Serpentine Knot Necklace - I think that would look AMAZING! What do you think this version of the Serpentine bracelet should be called? Maybe the Serpentine Drop Knot? I love this because...

There's no doubt that feathers are totally "in" right now! We've seen feather earrings all over the runways, in almost every magazine, and most recently with JewelMint's new Plume Paradise Earrings and the Wing It Earrings from January's collection.
I'm mostly loving the softer approach to feather accessories that ditch the bright neons with elegant pale blushes, nudes, and gold.

Somehow I just feel that wearing a necklace with large feathers and earrings at the same time could potentially make me look like a total bird lady...not cute. :)
I do, however, think feathers look most glamorous when paired with a white strapless dress, with strappy sandals, and your hair pulled back in a sleek high or side pony!

JewelMint's Atlanis Pendant was a quick March Collection sell-out. Like most pieces that sell out super fast at the beginning of each month and eventually restock, there's still some hope this piece may come back...someday anyway!
In the meantime, I've set out to find a few pieces that look similar! I'm loving the Shell Charm Necklace from Max&Cleo, but the price is a little steep at $178. The Shell Horn Charm Necklace over at AE is an awesome deal for only $10 (on sale). Except I would probably remove all the charms and reattach them closer together as a cluster.

JewelMint's Eros Earrings are undoubtedly one of the more unique designs of JewelMint past. While many fans would love to see these make a comeback, there's still no word whether or not these will be ever be coming back in stock. In the meantime, I decided to set out to see if I could find anything remotely similar! If you've been longing for the Eros, check out some of these designs that may be able to hold you over until you can get your hands on the real deal...
One of my favorite pairs of earrings from JewelMint are undoubtedly the Charleston Earrings. I was flipping through InStyle's March 2012 issue during checkout the other day to find what I first thought was a new JewelMint refashion of these earrings.
Instead, it was a beautiful amethyst and diamond Charleston-esque ring by Deborah Pagani for only...well, $6,976!
I guess if I had that kind of money laying around I wouldn't think twice about picking this ring up. Unfortunately, I've done the math and that ends up being approximately 233 pieces of JewelMint or 466 pieces if your big on the buy one, get one free promos...so I think I'll have to pass this one up. ;)
On the other hand, this ring should inspire JewelMint to refashion their own version of the Charleston Earrings into a ring - don't you think?

Let's take a look back at these exclusive promotions and their fine print: August 28th: "For the next 24 hours buy any of these Ts and get the JEWELMINT piece FREE!" This particular promotion had no limits. There had been some confusion when it came to the actual cut-off time of this deal.

Phew! Where to start...
Well, let me start off with saying that we should in no way feel entitled to receive anything free from JewelMint or StyleMint, ever. While these promos were great while they lasted, it really is too bad they had to end for existing members.
On the other hand, I think it may have been a bad move to take a promo that was beyond fabulous to begin with and then to slowly, but surely, include more and more limits that would eventually exclude the members that loved and looked forward to these specific promos.
While it is reasonable to promote certain deals to only new members, I can begin to understand how existing members may feel, well...excluded.
Understandably, there were some limits that may have been necessary such as as the one per person limit. However, any move such as this could risk alienating some diehard fans, thus creating some hard feelings. It's the name of the game.
Yes, at the end of the day it is just a shirt and it is just a piece of jewelry - StyleMint and JewelMint owes nothing more to its fans than continuing to provide us with quality shirts and jewelry.
I just think a lot of us fans really looked forward to being a part of this specific deal, that's all.

I found a super cute pair of bangles that matches the beloved Daphne Pendant perfectly! The contrast between the wood (yes, the bangle is wood too!) and crystals is undeniably eye-catching and unique. The aqua glass stones add a nice pop of color while the simple silver and cubic zirconia bangle is a simple statement bangle that will look great with just about anything!

September's Ever Frost Ring is a gorgeous modern take on Art Deco jewelry and I found the perfect earrings to match! I'm loving these Lulu Frost for J.Crew Crystal and Resin Earrings ($75 at jcrew.com) that I found when looking around online the other day. Everything from the matching gold-plated hardware, white resin detailing, sparkling crystals, all the way down to the geometric similarities of both pieces makes for perfection.
Since each piece is just as equally flashy as the other, I imagine one wearing this look with a mens inspired white button up shirt, dark wash jeans, and red heels!
Lately I've been hard at work updating Mint-Spiration.com! The layout is now much cleaner, the interface is more consistent with the rest of my "mint" blogs, and I've also been adding a ton of new photos for everyone to check out!
One of the galleries I've added is dedicated to JewelMint Look-alikes. As you'll notice, some of these pieces have more distinct similarities while others are more subtle. Either way, you can find some great pieces that resemble JewelMint pieces that may no longer be available or that will at least help to fill that void until the real deal is re-released!

As you can see in today's post, I have paired the Lapis Necklace with
Anthropologie's new Triangle Reflection Drops in Blue ($38 at
Anthropologie.com). I immediately thought of the lovely Lapis the second
I laid eyes on these earrings. While the cobalt and gold colors are
obvious similarities, you can also notice the triagular shapes
throughout both pieces. The round cobalt beads in the Lapis also carry
throughout the top portion of these earrings, and the touch of silver on
the bottom gives the whole look a little something extra!
