JewelMint's Prom Queen Contest : My Choices

In my post earlier this morning, I went through JewelMint's recent email about Prom Trends and their newest contest:

"Get crowned 'JewelMint Prom Queen' and win a style consultation via video chat from Cher! The royal prize includes 3 FREE JewelMint peices, and a hair and makeup beauty package! Think you were born to wear the crown? To enter, upload a photo to our Facebook wall on bottom section from April 26th - May 3rd of a prom dress you love, and tell us how JewelMint completes your look!"

Like I said before, I won't be joining in on the contest since I personally think it is best this be reserved for prom princesses actually going to prom. So instead, I've decided to make a cute little post in honor of this contest!

My choices would come down to two. My first option would be this...my BCBGMaxAzria Amethyst Dress. I would pair this with JewelMint's Rachel Earrings (see my review here) to add the perfect amount of gold contrast while still keeping true to the amethyst theme and not overdoing it!

 

My second option would be my peach and pale gold J.Crew Collection Dress. This dress goes down to the knees and the shimmery silver/gold bottom would be perfectly contrasted with the silver, gold and brass colors of JewelMint's Forever Yours Bracelet (see my review here).  I would also pair this with my Sweetheart ring (review here) on the opposite hand since this dress is quite simple and could use the extra accessories.

Which one of my choices do you like best? My amethyst BCBGMaxAzria Dress with the Rachel Earrings or my peach and gold J.Crew Collection dress with the Forever Yours Bracelet and Sweetheart ring?

Jewelmint's Forever Yours Bracelet Review

I recently received my new Jewelmint Forever Yours Bracelet in the mail from last week's debut of Jewelmint's April 2011 Collection!

I'm sorry to say that this bracelet has already sold sold, but there's a glimmer of hope because this bracelet in particular has a wait list option that was added by Jewelmint this past weekend. Which I'm assuming means they will be re-stocking this beauty sometime soon!

Upon receiving my package, I noticed something didn't seem right. When I pulled the package out of my mailbox I realized I couldn't feel a box! However, when I opened the package itself I found that a box hadn't been included on purpose and my bracelet was still inside. Phew! So instead of a box my bracelet was perfectly packaged in one of the little black velvet pouches that some of the jewelry comes in sometimes (although these pouches are usually included within a box). However, this time this wasn't the case. 

The little note was also still included, but this time it showed up in a cute little black envelope. While I'm a little obsessed with the Jewelmint boxes, I didn't really mind I didn't get one this time. Especially when I opened the pouch and found the most adorable bracelet inside!

To tell you the truth, the quality of this bracelet is impeccable. I seriously can't wait to get it engraved. I'll probably give my nearest Things Remembered (http://thingsremembered.com) store a call to see if they can engrave this for me this weekend.

Here's my little mini review of this bracelet and please forgive my overuse of saying "um, um, um" all the time hahaha. I was re-watching my videos and it really does start to get annoying, but it's just one of those bad habits that I need to quit! :-)

So I logged in today to my JewelMint account (as I do everyday) only to realize the ever-so-charitable Rachel Earrings are completely sold-out! Phew! Thank goodness I purchased them when I did!! For those new to Jewelmint, the Rachel earrings were designed by actress Rachel Bilson and proceeds were given to her favorite charity, Invisible Children (click here to learn more)!

As for the Forever Yours Bracelet? It's selling fast and the very serious "almost sold-out" warning is already, well...warning! I've been debating on getting a second set for layering, but I need to decide here very soon. Like I said here in a recent post, I'm going to engrave the names of my children and hubby into this bracelet as a keepsake. If I get the second set, I'd probably have to move on to our extended family...the family pets. ;-)

So yes, if you were waiting on the bracelets, get them while you can. We all know the Aqua Bomb didn't last long as soon as those three little dreaded words "almost sold-out" popped up!

On a side note, I also noticed the Flower Power Necklace - amongst other items - was listed as sold-out this morning too. I have a feeling my entire showroom is going to be sold-out soon which would be just awful! That's it, second Forever Yours Bracelet.....you're mine!
